Bayern Munich, Liverpool FC, and Manchester United are all reportedly battling for Benfica center-back Antonio Silva:
Liverpool are ready to battle Manchester United and Bayern Munich to sign Benfica defender Antonio Silva during the summer window. Silva is enjoying a fantastic season with his Portuguese club and he has established himself as a first-team regular there.
Standing at 1.87 metres, Silva holds a formidable presence in both aerial and ground duels while using his immense strength. His maturity and mental growth have played a pivotal role in establishing himself as a senior team regular this season.
The 20-year-old is not the quickest defender but he uses his positioning sense and stands sideways to make quick recoveries. He stays on his feet, using his body and good decision-making to make well-timed tackles and interceptions against any opponent.
It does not seem like Silva would really be on Bayern Munich’s radar at this point, but if a defender or two were to leave Säbener Straße, then Silva could be a player who the Bavarians take a look at.
Borussia Dortmund could be contemplating a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Groß, a selection for the German national team’s EURO 2024 entry:
Pascal Groß (32/ ) is being discussed internally at Borussia Dortmund. #BVB is looking for a new central midfielder/no 6. Groß is a topic – but no talks yet.
Interest of Eintracht Frankfurt is more concrete so far. Groß‘ contract with Brighton runs out in 2025. #BHAFC …

In about a week, Bayern Munich have become the laughing stock of the football world. Going all-in on trying to keep Thomas Tuchel for another year only to be rejected, and then finishing third in the Bundesliga after a devastating defeat to Hoffenheim — it’s the lowest point this club has seen in well over a decade.
Since Tuchel is now gone, it’s time to start blaming the people actually responsible for this circus. The board needs to answer for what is happening at this club.
In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:
- This is how the banter era starts.
- Tangent: Is Manuel Neuer finished? Probably not.
- How a lack of leadership at the top level has led to this current situation.
- Why people should have seen this coming.
- How this current coaching circus makes it even harder to find a new coach.
- What trying to keep Thomas Tuchel at the last minute says about the board.
- Why doesn’t Bayern Munich want to bring back Hansi Flick?
- Discussing the pros and cons of a potential Flick return.
- Some other final candidates, like Erik ten Hag (ew), Allegri (eww), and Mourinho (ewww).
Leeds United is taking a close look at Borussia Dortmund’s Marius Wolf:
News Marius Wolf | Leeds United is interested in Wolf and could be a serious option if Leeds is promoted to the Premier League.
➡️ #LUFC have inquired about the 28 y/o right-back who leaves Dortmund as a free agent.
There is also interest from Spain, Italy, and Saudi… pic.twitter.com/0f9HQxU0sv

FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong might be on the transfer radar of Bayern Munich, but he is also considered to be a “dream” signing for Arsenal FC boss Mikel Arteta:
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is viewed as a ‘dream’ signing by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and he is among three key transfer targets this summer. Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho are also at the top of their wish-list.
Bayern Munich closed out its season with a disappointing 4-2 loss in Sinsheim to a very solid Hoffenheim squad.
While the game started out great for Bayern Munich, the Bavarians eventually lost some steam and were overtaken by the home side. It was a sad ending to a hapless (and trophyless) season. Let’s get down to it and see what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting lineup and why it was weird (and probably unnecessary, too).
- How the game played, including the feeling we all had when Bayern Munich blazed its way out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the match.
- The sinking feeling of watching the team lose its steam in the second half.
- Some thoughts on why it was just time for Thomas Tuchel to leave.
- Addressing the uncertainty of what’s next.
Could England coach Gareth Southgate take over for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United:
Manchester United have made England boss Gareth Southgate their top target to replace current manager Erik ten Hag. The club want to conclude a deal in the next few weeks and announce him after Euro 2024.
Jamal Musiala has a multitude of footballing skills. However, not even a confident player like Musiala would dare to match up with Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos in a long passing competition.
“I would never bet anything on that challenge because Toni is very precise with his right foot. He does it perfectly and no, I wouldn’t bet money on that,” Musiala said with a laugh. “Toni always puts the ball in the right place, away from the defender, so you can turn, pass or dribble. So far I have only played two games with him, but I’ve already seen the quality of player he is. I’m excited to see what we can do together as a team at the Euros.”
Bayern Munich’s season is over.
With one game left of the season at the time that this podcast has dropped, fans are peering toward the summer transfer window and wondering how different this roster might look by September.
We’ve got thought on that and a whole lot more, so let’s get to it and see what we have in tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- Wait, Thomas Tuchel is coming back? It sure looks like it.
- The veto power “rule” at Bayern Munich is wreaking havoc.
- What players could exit if Tuchel comes back.
- Why in the world did the DFB opt to release its roster in such a haphazard manner?
- Speaking of the German national team roster, let’s talk about that roster drop. Did Julian Nagelsmann get it right?
