Bayern Munich have seen virtually every single manager turn down offers to manage the German champions and either stayed at their current club or moved to a different one. With only a few managers left to choose from, the Bavarians have set their sights on “recently-relegated-with-Burnley” coach Vincent Kompany.
According to a report from Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal), the 38-year-old Belgian is the preferred candidate of Christoph Freund and Max Eberl; the former Manchester City defender is also keen on taking up the Bayern job. Mauricio Pochettino, who recently left Chelsea FC, is also being discussed but the focus is on Kompany.
The way it looks now is that Kompany will be viewed as a “project manager” and will be given time and players to transform his ideas into success. However, with the higher-ups being more impatient as they grow older, Kompany will have to implement his game plan with ease and swiftness.
