An injury and a bout with tonsillitis derailed the second half of the season just a bit for Bayern Munich phenom Aleksandar Pavlović, but the youngster did get himself fit enough to start the second leg of the Champions League tie vs. Real Madrid.
The Bavarians would not come away with a victory, but the youngster appreciated having the chance to start against Los Blancos and take in the whole experience.
“I always dreamed of something like that when I was a kid — playing with FC Bayern against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu. That was crazy. But I was still calm before the game. I wanted to be brave and play my game. Regardless of the opponent, I just play my football, my passes,” Pavlović told Sport Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
With such a strong showing during his rookie season in Bavaria, no one will be shocked if Pavlović gets many more opportunities to play against power clubs like Real Madrid in the future.
