After landing Mathys Tel, could Bayern Munich be back in the mix for another next-generation French talent with star potential?
The man in question is attacking midfielder Désiré Doué, who has just capped two successful seasons in Ligue 1 despite only being 18. Doué plays for Rennes, the same club that sent Tel to Bavaria.
And according to FIFA.com journalist Abdellah Boulma, the list of suitors runs long. Via @iMiaSanMia:
Bayern are one of several clubs interested in Rennes’ attacking midfielder Désiré Doué (18). The French club is preparing to lose the player this summer. PSG, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Leverkusen and Dortmund are all after Doué [@AbdellahBoulma]
Doué is rated just €20m on Transfermarkt currently, and has a contract expiring in June 2026. If he joins Bayern, he would enter a competition where it is already rumored that Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz is earmarked for the summer after this one — and where Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala currently play.
But with the Bavarians in transition, there might just be ample opportunity for a sought-after young talent.
