The final match of the 2024/25 campaign will be played at Bayern Munich’s home stadium, the Allianz Arena. The city of Munich will serve as the host for the Champions League final, hopefully allowing Bayern the opportunity to celebrate its third trophy during the month of May.
The last team to win the final in its home country was Borussia Dortmund in 1997. If Bayern fails to win the Champions League at home in 2025, then the next opportunity will be in Budapest. UEFA has officially announced Hungary’s capital as the host city, with the match to be played at the Puskás Arena (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
This will be the first time that Hungary hosts the Champions League final, although the 2023 Europa League final was held at the Puskás Arena.
This is the longest dry spell for Italy as a host country, which makes Rome and Milan the leading candidates for the 2027 final.
