The 2024/25 Bundesliga season will be an exciting one. As long-time champion Bayern Munich tries to regain the crown, the top two challengers, Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart — both of whom finished above the Bavarians this year — will do their best to hold on to the talent they have.
One player that looks likely to stay at: attacking midfielder Deniz Undav.
“I hope so,” the recently-minted Germany international said when asked on the topic (as captured by Sky Sport DE, via @iMiaSanMia). “The discussions are ongoing. We have to see what happens. I have expressed my desire. I hope I can stay with VfB Stuttgart. That’s my goal. I want to have a strong season with Stuttgart next season.”
Undav and Bayern’s Thomas Müller look to push for playing time in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad this summer at EURO 2024 as the top depth options behind Kai Havertz (Arsenal FC) and Niclas Füllkrug (Borussia Dortmund) up top.
Traditionally, the summer transfer window is the time of year for Germany’s smaller clubs with exciting talent to get picked clean. If Stuttgart can hang on to Undav for another year, it will be a big win for the Swabians.
