According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, a contract extension for Bayern Munich left-back is no longer out of the realm of possibility — and Vincent Kompany wants to make it a point to keep the Canadian star.
In what will be a good sign for many fans, there are new talks underway between Davies’ representatives and Bayern Munich:
Exclusive | A contract extension with Alphonso #Davies beyond 2025 is now possible again!
➡️ In the last few days, new talks have taken place with his management. Especially because Vincent #Kompany really wants to keep the 23 y/o!
In recent months, Bayern had offered him a new contract until 2029 with a salary of €13-14m gross, including possible bonuses. Davies always demanded €20m/year.
Real Madrid has been interested in him for the summer, but there has not yet been a concrete offer.

The elephant in the room is still the rumored salary demand for Davies. If he holds strong at €20 million per season, it is hard to envision the Bavarians meeting that requirement. If, however, Davies drops to a more reasonable (and realistic) figure, things could progress quickly.
As Plettenberg noted, though, Real Madrid is not fully out of the mix just yet.
