Ron-Thorben Hoffmann was the goalkeeper for Bayern II as the ragtag squad made history by winning the 3. Liga, he was in the squad as Bayern Munich lined up against Paris Saint-Germain is Lisbon and was among those celebrating with the likes of Manuel Neuer as the Bavarian giants lifted yet another Champions League title. He is always one for the big occasions and so it is fitting that he would now sign for one of the biggest clubs in Germany.
Schalke 04 recently announced on their official twitter page that they had signed Ron-Thorben Hoffmann from Eintracht Braunschweig after the German’s contract had expired at the club. The 25-year-old penned a contract until 2027 with one of the fallen giants of German football, who will be desperate to regain their status among the Bundesliga.
Hoffmann even mentioned in Schalke’s introductory YouTube video that he sought Neuer’s advice on moving to Schalke, with Neuer having nothing but praise for his former club. If Hoffmann can do even remotely as well as Neuer did at Schalke, perhaps we will see Hoffmann in the Bundesliga sooner rather than later.
