The south of Germany is facing a horrible situation right now, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg are facing an unprecedented natural crisis. The floods in those states have claimed at least five lives, and led to thousands being evacuated from their homes.
Bayern Munich decided to show their solidarity with the population of those states, by donating €1 million to the victims affected by the floods. The club will soon decide how exactly they intend to use that money, but it is clear that their support will be unwavering.
Herbert Hainer and Jans-Christian Dreesen, president and CEO at Bayern respectively, released their statements about the clubs massive donation to their people.
“The floods have caused big damage and terrible suffering. Especially in such exceptional situations, a special community spirit is needed, as many people on the ground are currently demonstrating. FC Bayern is keen to show solidarity and support those affected,” Hainer said.
The club CEO echoed Hainer’s sentiments.
“As a club, we stand for togetherness and humanity and are committed to helping those who are in need through no fault of their own. With the consequences of this natural disaster right on our doorstep, we have to stand together and we want to do everything we can to provide rapid assistance to those affected,” Dreesen remarked.
Well done Bayern! Fans will always be proud to support the club.
