FC Barcelona could be contemplating a “new” proposal to Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich.
It is hard to say if Barca actually submitted an initial proposal to Kimmich, but if the Catalans did, this would be a sign that their rumored interest is legitimate:
FC Barcelona will make a new offer for a Bayern Munich star once managed by its current head coach Hansi Flick according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources.
Flick and Joshua Kimmich won a treble together in 2019/2020 which later became a sextuple.
Yet interest in the midfielder, who is also able to play as a right back, from Barca began on the watch of Flick’s fired predecessor Xavi Hernandez last summer.
With Sergio Busquets announcing he would leave the club after the Blaugrana won its first La Liga title in four years, Xavi looked to replace him with either Kimmich or Martin Zubimendi.
Cash-strapped Barca couldn’t afford either man, however, and had to settle for a cut-rate Oriol Romeu who started the season strongly yet was soon confined to the bench once injuries and a lack of confidence blighted his performances.
Kimmich’s future remains uncertain at this point, but it does seems like a decision will be made one way or the other soon after Germany’s time at the EUROs is over.
VfB Stuttgart defender and Germany international Waldemar Anton could be a popular figure on the transfer market as both Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are interested in the 27-year-old:
The future of Waldemar #Anton remains open … Contract valid until 2027 with VfB Stuttgart.
But this summer, he has an release clause of around 20 million euros.

There is a lot of moving and shaking going on at Bayern Munich and the German national team these days, which means there is a lot to talk about. This is what we have on tap for the latest edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- Vincent Kompany wants to play a 4-4-2 (hmmm), sell some wingers (yeah!), and has six players targeted for five positions (Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons, Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, FC Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, VfB Stuttgart’s Chris Führich, VfB Stuttgart, Fulham’s João Palhinha, and Everton’s Amadou Onana). What does all of this mean? Let’s discuss.
- Are we in the final days of Joshua Kimmich being a player at Bayern Munich?
- Is Julian Nagelsmann’s loyalty to İlkay Gündoğan going to cost him…and the German national team?
- A little bit of the Entertainment Rundown.
They knew exactly what they were doing:
✍️ Dick extends further.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is still on the radar of Arsenal FC:
Arsenal are exploring a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after Chelsea cooled their interest in the Nigeria international.
Germany swung and swung relentlessly at Ukraine, but the Ukrainian defense decided to honour their fellow countryman and recently crowned undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk by maneuvering expertly around all the offense thrown at them with excellent blocks and weaves.
In this episode of the Postgame Show, Cyler (Rayyan) goes over the game, including:
- The starting XIs and general shape of both Germany and Ukraine.
- The tactical decisions made by head coach Julian Nagelsmann, namely those seemingly made to conserve the players.
- How Germany are beginning to break into the final third, but are failing to break through when in the final third.
- Some exciting individual performances from Maximilian Beier and Maximilian Mittelstädt.
- Some worrying individual performances from Kai Havertz and İlkay Gündoğan.
- The social dynamics of the team, and how Gündoğan’s captaincy is likely more important behind the scenes than on the pitch.
Despite rumors linking him to Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and others, new FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick wants to keep midfielder Frenkie de Jong:
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has made crystal clear his feelings regarding the potential sale of Frenkie de Jong to the club’s board. This comes amid fresh interest in the services of the Dutchman on the part of German giants Bayern Munich.
The Bayern brass, it is claimed, have returned to the table for De Jong, considering the 26-year-old the ideal addition to the engine room ranks of incoming manager Vincent Kompany. FdJ has of course long been tipped for a Barcelona exit, as he continues to dig his heels in when it comes to altering his Blaugrana contract, set to expire in the summer of 2026.
Deco and co, as a result, are understood to be open to a sale, for the right price. Boss Flick, however, is not…
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have provided an insight into the German’s reaction to former club Bayern’s fresh assault on his midfield star’s signature:
‘Hansi Flick is counting on the footballer and does not want him to leave the Barça discipline this summer. The new Barça coach would have already expressed his desire to have De Jong in his brand new sporting project.’
As you might now, the Philadelphia Phillies (aka the best team in baseball) are playing a couple of games in London against the New York Mets (boo!). This is how the crew at London Stadium (home of West Ham United of the Premier League) is converting the pitch to a baseball field:
Bayern Munich, usually a very well run club, is going through a dreadful transition period currently. Vincent Kompany has taken over as manager and things are not exactly rosy. We look at how Kompany’s time at Bayern might pan out, recent transfer rumors and more including:
- A video of Kompany berating players is rumored to be circulating among Bayern players — will this help or hurt Kompany?
- Will many players leave Bayern Munich ahead of the next season?
- Does Bayern Munich really need to be rebuilt?
- Are the expectations for Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany too high?
- What will be considered a successful European championship tournament for Germany?
- Should Leroy Sané’s contract be extended?
- A few thoughts on Borussia Dortmund’s defeat in the UEFA Champions League final.
At one point, Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus was on Bayern Munich’s transfer sheet, but a major knee injury and some struggles with confidence and form seem to have derailed his career a bit. Now, it looks like he is embracing the need to stay and prove himself at Gladbach:
⚫️⚪️ The clear tendency is that Florian Neuhaus will stay at Borussia Mönchengladbach next season!
Although he has received many inquiries …

Former Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard felt more comfortable playing with Inter Milan than he might have in Bavaria:
In the case of Pavard, one of the main reasons that the Frenchman decided to join Inter was that he knew he would be playing as a centre-back three.
At Bayern, Pavard had often played on the right of a back four rather than in the centre.
“I know perfectly well that he prefers to play as a central defender,” Deschamps said of the 28-year-old.
“Even if he’s evolved at Inter in a difference system from ours,” the France coach noted.
“Given that Inzaghi also asks him to push up a lot.”
“It’s clear to see that now he feels more at ease as a central defender than in the past,” Deschamps said.
