Germany’s final pre-EURO preparatory game saw them come from behind and win against Greece after an early Greece goal due to an avoidable mistake from Manuel Neuer.
Neuer took to address the incident post-game: “It always takes several people. But I’m looking at myself, I should have saved the ball better. The flow of the game in the first half was not good – especially against a team that sits deeper.”
Neuer also gave his thoughts on the game itself, and what is expected from the team at the EUROs: “Greece had a few counter-attacking chances, we have to do better. In the second half we were on the offensive and created good scoring chances. You could tell that we wanted to win this game. The first half in Munich [against Scotland] should not be like today” (@RTL_com via @iMiaSanMia)
Neuer’s initial save, which led to a goal on the rebound, was almost reminiscent of the mistake against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Nonetheless, both Germany and Neuer will look to shake off these mistakes as the much-awaited home tournament edges closer. What did you think of the game? Tell us in the comments below!
