The Alphonso Davies rollercoaster transfer saga has been going for a long time. You may be tired from screaming and ready to puke, but the ride is still far from over. After reportedly agreeing terms with Real Madrid to reportedly making ridiculous demands during contract negotiations with Bayern Munich and rejected a contract with €13 million a year to reportedly being rejected by Real Madrid to reportedly re-opening contract negotiations with Bayern again, reporters Hanna Ralf and Philipp Kessler now claim, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, that Bayern have made a new, improved offer to Alphonso Davies.
Bayern Munich’s new offer is said to pay the Canadian star €13 million fixed a year, plus a maximum of €4 million a year in bonuses. The reason for these negotiations are new head coach Vincent Kompany’s desire to work with Davies and Director of Sport Max Eberl’s drive to give Kompany the squad he wants.
However, Bayern are not going to overuse the ACME credit card to land the Roadrunner…by extending his contract. Bayern are determined not to be “manipulated” and refuse to “extend Davies’ contract at any price.” Apparently, Uli Hoeness in particular is highly critical of Davies’ recent development.
BFW Analysis
Reports of Bayern making Davies a contract offer of €17 million a year were followed up by reports that Bayern are looking to sell De Ligt because his wages of €15 million a year are too costly. By now, it is clear that there are some obvious inconsistencies with the reports about Bayern’s business. Make of that what you will.
