According to a report from Tz journalists Mano Bonke and Philipp Kessler (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović is thinking of having his tonsils removed to alleviate the persistent issues he has had with tonsillitis over the years:
Aleksandar Pavlović could undergo surgery to remove his tonsils after the Euros as they’ve regularly been causing him problems.
For his part, Pavlović sounds like he is ready to make it happen.
“I may have to remove them because I’ve had tonsillitis two or three times now and it sets me back physically every time,” said Pavlović, who has to deal with the physical fallout from the medication required to get him healthy. “It’s really annoying. It [the surgery] can’t happen during the season, because then I’ll be out completely. I’ll probably have to sacrifice my vacation for it. That’s more important now. I don’t want to get sick again and be out for two or three weeks.”
It would be a mature decision for a young guy, which shows — once again — that he is a player Bayern Munich should seek to continue to cultivate.
Incidentally, the DFB released a statement (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), stating that Pavlović missed training to “an infection” today:
Aleksandar Pavlović did not rejoin the national team’s camp in Herzogenaurach today due to an infection. All other 25 players are available.
