According to a report from Sky Sport journalists Kerry Hau and Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s midfield for the future is rounding into form with João Palhinha and Aleksandar Pavlović as the featured players.
What does that mean for Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka? Well, their respective futures are open to say the least:
With the likely signing of João Palhinha, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are definitely allowed to leave the club this summer for suitable offers. Aleksandar Pavlović is a cornerstone in the club’s plans for the future and is seen as a #8/deep lying playmaker to link defense and attack, thus complementing Palhinha in midfield.
Of course, this plan is reliant on Bayern Munich finalizing a deal for Palhinha, but the meteoric rise of Pavlović has been something to behold. Bursting onto the scene from out of nowhere, the youngster has seemingly jumped ahead of Kimmich, Goretzka, and Konrad Laimer — something unfathomable just a year ago.
