Reports are flowing in that state that even if Bayern Munich lands VfB Stuttgart center-back Hiroki Ito, the club will still try to acquire Bayer Leverkusen Jonathan Tah.
If you feel the temperature rising, it is just the seat underneath Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano, Kim Min-jae, and Eric Dier getting a little hot.
Per Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the transfers of Ito and Tah are not related — meaning that Bayern Munich could be eyeing deals for both players:
The transfer of Hiroki Ito is separate from Jonathan Tah and doesn’t affect it. Bayern want Ito as a left footed center-back for the left side of the central defense.
According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, the deal for Ito is done — and Bayern Munich is continuing to negotiate with Bayer Leverkusen for Tah:
Hiroki #Ito, he can be considered a new player for FC Bayern!
▫️Understand it’s done and sealed. Bayern will trigger the release clause of around €30m / @VfB
▫️The 25 y/o will sign a contract with Bayern at least until 2028!
▫️Ito will join FC Bayern independently of Jonathan #Tah. Negotiations between Bayern and Leverkusen are ongoing!

To clear the way for two possible acquisitions, De Ligt and Upamecano could be on the way out the door per Sky Sport’s Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern are planning to let go of two center-backs this summer. Matthijs de Ligt is allowed to leave for a suitable offer. And although Kompany likes Upamecano, the Frenchman himself is open to a new challenge. His agent Moussa Sissoko is exploring the market.
