It is official, Bayern Munich goalkeeper Johannes Schenk has made the move to Preußen Münster. FCBayern.com released the news:
Johannes Schenk is moving from FC Bayern to Preußen Münster. Last season, the 21-year-old goalkeeper was already on loan at the traditional club, but he has now been signed permanently. Preußen Münster has been promoted to the second division.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund thanks Schenk for his time at the club.
“We are delighted that Johannes Schenk, another player from our FC Bayern campus, is making it into professional football. Johannes has developed very well at Preußen Münster, and promotion to the second Bundesliga gives him an excellent perspective to take the next steps. We wish him all the best for his future,” Freund noted.
Schenk was caught up in a goalkeeping logjam with Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Daniel Peretz, Alexander Nübel, Tom Ritzy Hülsmann, Benjamin Ballis, and Manuel Kainz among others on the organizational depth chart. This move should allow him to find his way through the professional ranks.
