Man United have eyes on signing Genoa goalkeeper, Josep Martinez.
Manchester United Football Club need to make several signings in a variety of positions this summer. Erik ten Hag’s future is now secure, so it’s up to INEOS to go out there and secure those targets.
A striker, left-back, centre-back and right-winger are probably the big needs. However, the latest report from Rudy Galetti suggests that United could be looking to bring in another goalkeeper.
First and foremost, it probably means Altay Bayindir is still eyeing an exit from the Theatre of Dreams, presumably due to his lack of playing time. He only started one game during his debut campaign in Manchester, with Andre Onana securing the majority of the minutes.
The man who the Red Devils are looking at to fill that potential void is Josep Martinez, a Genoa keeper who is attracting attention.
Galetti states that United are ‘internally evaluating’ making a move to sign the 26-year-old, though the Reds will have to act quickly to secure the transfer. That’s due to the fact he has already agreed personal terms with Inter Milan, though there is still some distance between the two Serie A clubs in terms of transfer fee.

Martinez played 36 games for Genoa during last season, looking like an excellent shot-stopper, while also being more than good enough with his feet. Now, he’s looking to make that next step in his domestic career.
A move to Inter would represent a chance to play regularly at a higher level, though would a move to United be more attractive? Probably not…
We still have Andre Onana on the books. If Martinez is okay with playing second fiddle then this would be a nice acquisition. This is a full Spain international, after all. I struggle to see how he chooses Old Trafford over the San Siro when everything is considered, though…
