It’s official: former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann will remain in place as Germany head coach through the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Nagelsmann’s contract originally took him only through EURO 2024, but prior to the tournament, the 36-year-old — a top coaching prospect who was fielding inquiries, including reportedly from Bayern Munich — decided to stick around.
The details of Nagelsmann’s deal with the DFB have been murky, but now it appears that we know Germany’s progression out of the group stage has earned the coach an extension through the World Cup.
There was speculation surrounding the exact length of the coach’s deal, but that can all be put to rest:
