It has taken a long, long while amid protracted negotiations, but after over a year, Nestory Irankunda has finally arrived in Munich. The Australian wonder kid with a rocket of a shot signed with Bayern Munich over six months ago, but was unable to officially join from Adelaide United until his 18th birthday. With that obstacle out of the way, however, Irankunda has been able to start preparations with Bayern Munich’s U-23 side, Bayern II, as shown via the official FC Bayern campus twitter account.

“It was a long journey from Australia to Munich, but I’m very happy to be here now. I can’t wait to get started and meet everyone. Looking forward to starting off strong”, Irankunda told @FCBayern.com pic.twitter.com/jyRE8QHKLO

Irankunda signs off the short video by stating that, “I’m looking forward to starting off strong with you guys.” How strong he starts off will be the question as new head coach Vincent Kompany will take a long look at the rapid youngster, as reported by Kerry Hau and captured by @iMiaSanMia. After evaluating him, Kompany will decide whether he is ready for the first team or if he needs more time mature with the U-23s in the Regionalliga.
