New Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has a history with winger Leroy Sané.
The two were teammates at Manchester City and have a good relationship. Kompany feels like that history will help him unlock the best of the Germany international.
“When I was in the Championship, I only watched Championship football, and it was the same in the Premier League and in the Belgian league. As a coach, you almost have no time for other games,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “At City, I was more than just a captain. So maybe things won’t be that different for Leroy than it was back then. He is a very talented player. My job is to get the best out of Leroy Sané — and every player. I won’t make any distinctions.”
Sané’s form could be key to the team’s performance next season. When Sané is on, he is one of the best players in the world. When he slumps, though, there are periods where he should be benched.
