Germany and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has won almost everything, but not many of those victories might have been as relieving as the draw Die Mannschaft earned against Switzerland on Sunday.
“I’m happy we made it in the end and won the group. We’ve shown that we believe in ourselves until the end, which is important for the team. I don’t think we deserved to go behind — we had good control of the game and rewarded ourselves in the end. Switzerland is a good team, but we controlled the game and conceded with the first chance. I’m totally happy with the team,” Kroos said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The Germans will now face the runner-up in Group C, which is wide open at the moment with England vs. Slovenia and Denmark vs. Serbia still to play. Whoever stands tallest when the dust settles there will be Germany’s next big test.
