Former Bayern Munich manager and current German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann has been reluctant to change anything with his lineup, but much like winter in the Game of Thrones universe, injuries are coming to the national team — it is inevitable.
One situation to keep an eye on is Antonio Rüdiger’s thigh. The Real Madrid defender is banged up and could be facing some issues. The center-back has teamed with Jonathan Tah — already suspended for the next match due to yellow card accumulation — to act as the keystone for Germany’s backline.
“Toni has a bit of a problem with his thigh. We’ll have to see what happens. I hope it’s nothing serious. We’ll see. That could be quite problematic,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia),
Nico Schlotterbeck and Waldemar Anton would be the next men in line to step up if Rüdiger’s situation worsens and Nagelsmann might have to learn to get a little more flexible with his lineups.
