With two groups in the books, Germany’s place in the Round of 16 is already set. As Group A winners, Germany will take on 2nd place from Group C — one of England, Denmark, Slovenia, or Serbia — on Saturday, June 29th, at 3PM EDT.
Spain and Portugal both have arguably an easier path to the quarterfinals than Germany. In the Round of 16, Spain plays a 3rd-placed team from one of groups A, D, E, and F while Portugal places the 3rd-placed team from one of Groups A, B, and C.
Tuesday will the day to watch as England take on Slovenia and Denmark battle Serbia. With a win, England would confirm first place, but second place is wide open.
The remaining pair of teams on Germany’s side of the bracket (via UEFA.com): second place in Groups D (Netherlands, France, Austria, Poland) and E (Romania, Belgium, Slovakia, Ukraine). First place in those groups, along with first place in Group C, will end up on the opposite half of the bracket.
