After many weeks of rumors of Bayern Munich and Dr. Holger Broich parting ways and even a quote of Broich bemoaning the decision to pin the blame of the injuries of the past season on him, it is finally official: Dr. Holger Broich is no longer part of the staff at FC Bayern, as announced by the club’s official website.
@iMiaSanMia captured quotes from both Max Eberl and Broich about the split. Broich had this to say: “It was a great pleasure and honour for me to have been a part of these incredibly successful past ten years. I would like to thank you very much for the years of support, encouragement and trust that FC Bayern has placed in me and I wish the club continued success.”
Meanwhile, Eberl explained that this decision should be viewed separate from the injuries of the past season, again captured by @iMiaSanMia: “Holger Broich was part of the team behind the team that completed the most successful decade in FC Bayern’s history. He combines scientific knowledge with extensive professional experience at the highest level, from topics such as performance diagnostics to training management and youth development. Our decision is expressly to be viewed independently of the course of the past season, but rather as part of our fundamental reorientation in the sporting area. We would like to thank Holger Broich for an unprecedentedly successful period, to which he made a major contribution, and wish him all the best for his future.”
