According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), former Bayern Munich boss and current German national team manager Julian Nagelsmann will stick with Jonathan Tah in his starting XI, despite the incredible effort put forth by Borussia Dortmund star Nico Schlotterbeck in the team’s 2-0 victory over Denmark.
Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger is safe as well as Nagelsmann looks like he will lean on the Rüdiger-Tah relationship moving forward:
Jonathan Tah will almost certainly return to the starting XI in the quarterfinal. Nagelsmann will continue to rely on Tah-Rüdiger duo who played all games (except yesterday) together and developed automatisms between them.
Schlotterbeck made his case for more playing time against Denmark. If either Rüdiger or Tah falters moving forward, Nagelsmann looks like he has his “next man up” identified.
