Starring for Germany at the 2024 European Championship with three goals already in four games, Jamal Musiala seemingly cannot do any wrong as the country’s star boy. However, there have been rumors that his phenomenal performances have put serious pressure on Bayern Munich concerning potential contract talks, with his terms set to expire in 2026.
In a recent interview with WELT, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Bayern president Herbert Hainer was asked about the potential difficulty Musiala’s current form poses in contract negotiations. Would he be too expensive for Bayern or could he even leave the club? Hainer refused to be pulled into such a panicked discussion: “We are all happy for Jamal, he’s an exceptional international player, and he’s showing that in the national team. Jamal knows what he has at FC Bayern. He came from our campus as a youngster” (while Chelsea FC and Southampton looked on in agony) “and has established himself at the very highest level.”
But will he stay in Munich? “He feels very comfortable at FC Bayern,” the former Adidas CEO claims. “We all hope that he will continue to play for us for a long time to come.”
So do we all, Hainer. So do we all.
