After a blockbuster season on loan at RB Leipzig from PSG, Bayern Munich have become frontrunners to secure wonder Xavi Alonso’s signature this summer. Despite competition from other clubs, the Rekordmeister are pushing hard to land the player’s signature.
Per Fabrizio Romano, Bayern just can’t seem to get enough of the player:
For Xavi Simons, we’re still waiting for the decision of the player. It’ll be after the Euros. More than the financial agreement, it’s about what the player will decide. Bayern are pushing ‘like crazy’. I’m told that Bayern are literally calling every single day to make the deal happen. They’re ‘obsessed’ in a positive way with Simons. But there’s still no final agreement and green light from the player. Leipzig are still there. (via @iMiaSanMia)
Obsessed, huh Bayern? The fans are, too.
Another report from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, seconded by Sky’s Florian Plettenberg sheds light on the terms of the deal:
Bayern has reached an agreement with Xavi Simons over the salary (fixed €6m gross per year that can go up to €12m). Bayern and PSG are in negotiations, but RB Leipzig are still there.
It will be either a straight loan or loan with an option to buy. The modalities remain to be determined regardless of the club that will sign Simons. (via @iMiaSanMia)
Simons would undeniably make a brilliant signing for Bayern, regardless of whether or not it’s a loan deal. What do you think about this potential signing? Tell us in the comments below!
