When then-Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžic signed Noussair Mazraoui on a free transfer from Ajax in 2022, he said that he was so happy with how Bayern had solved their problems on the tough right-back market and how he is a type of player that was wanted by all of Europe. Two years later, it seems that all of Europe will get their chance to sign Mazraoui again.
Rumors of Bayern Munich’s desire to offload Mazraoui have been consistent this summer, with the latest report by the duo of Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, placing Mazraoui’s estimated value by the club at €20-€25 million. Furthermore, it seems that clubs from the Turkish Süper Lig are showing interest in Mazraoui.
Having Mazraoui’s story end in Munich after just two years would be a sad conclusion, but injuries have robbed him of the chance to become important for Bayern. And with many other right-backs such as Joshua Kimmich, Sacha Boey and Josip Stanisic currently on the books, it seems that Mazraoui has been deemed the right-back surplus to requirements. What a shame.
