The rumors are swirling and nothing seems to be concrete, but reports are saying that Bayern Munich are determined to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German center-back has had a good season, and a good run at the Euros for Germany right now. His performances very rarely disappoint, and it is most likely this potential that Max Eberl sees in Tah. Per reports from Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, and as captured by iMiaSanMia on X, Bayern Munich are getting closer to signing Tah. Bayern Munich’s board member for sport Max Eberl and Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes are looking to find common ground to sign Tah.
The only obstacle in the way is the considerable gap in the signing fee that Leverkusen is asking for, and the fee that Bayern is willing to pay. However, as per the report, an offer within the ranges of €25 million-€30 million is very much possible.
Leverkusen is already looking to line up replacements for Tah, despite the deal not being 100% confirmed. A potential replacement is Mats Hummels, who is currently a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund. Hummels signing for Leverkusen could definitely add to Bayern’s problems, considering the struggles that the club put up for the Rekordmeister this season. But Bayern’s first priority would be to build up their squad for the new season.
