Man United believe that Jadon Sancho will report for training this coming Monday.
Manchester United Football Club have been involved in their fair share of drama over the last couple of years. From the Glazer ownership regime, to off-field issues for numerous players, Erik ten Hag has not had it easy.
For the last six months, Ten Hag has been locked in a feud with Jadon Sancho after a very public fallout between the pair. The player would head to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the season. However, he is still technically a Red Devil.
The general feeling is that Sancho will once again leave in some capacity. With Ten Hag’s future now secured, the English winger will not want to stick around, leaving either permanently or on loan.
For now, though, Sancho is a United player and he has rules to follow. According to the Manchester Evening News, United ‘expect’ the out-of-favour star to report for pre-season training this coming Monday.
Sancho hasn’t trained with the senior team since before the turn of the year and as a result, it remains unclear whether the winger will take part in senior training sessions. I personally would assume not, but you just never know.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund man has a value of around £40m, with no serious interest generated in his signature up to this point.
United play their first pre-season game in ten days and again, I would be surprised if Sancho was involved in that game in any capacity.
For the club, it’s now about moving on from Sancho as soon as possible, turning a page on yet another failed big-money signing. I would be shocked if the club can recoup anything close to £40m for Sancho, particularly as every man and his dog knows his relationship at United is completely broken.
