Where has the summer gone? We’re into the semi-final stage of the Euro 2024, Everton have already signed three new players and will play their first preseason friendly in just under a fortnight!
While the new football season will not kick off for a few more weeks, the opening of the summer transfer window usually heralds the beginning of the new campaign. With the Premier League transfer window officially opened June 14th, we can be informally considered as already into the new season.
June
Friday June 14th – Summer transfer window opens in England [Premier League & Football League] and Scotland
Saturday June 15th – Dan Friedkin of The Friedkin Group agrees to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s stake in Everton
Tuesday June 18th – 2024/25 Premier League fixtures released – see Everton’s schedule here.
Saturday June 22nd – Everton’s first summer signing is Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa.
Monday June 24th – Everton sign Jack Harrison on loan for the season from Leeds United.
Tuesday June 25th – Ashley Young signs a one-year extension.
Sunday June 30th – All expiring contracts end (Andre Gomes, Dele Alli, Andy Lonergan)
July
Monday July 1st – Summer transfer window opens in France, Germany, Italy & Spain
Wednesday July 3rd – Everton’s third signing of the summer Iliman Ndiaye is announced.
Monday July 8th – Players report back to Finch Farm for pre-season training
Friday July 19th – Everton at Sligo Rovers (Pre-season friendly)
Saturday July 27th – Everton at Salford City (Pre-season friendly)
Tuesday July 30th – Everton at Coventry City (Pre-season friendly)
The players begin summer training at Finch Farm on Monday 8th, with the infamous “Gaffer’s Day” complete with the “beep test” likely happening soon too. After taking on Seamus Coleman’s first club Sligo Rovers, the Toffees will stay in Ireland for their training camp.
