Leroy Sané has benefitted from some favorable decisions at Bayern Munich since his move from Manchester City. While his first season at Bayern under Hansi Flick was tough, Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel were always happy to play him. Now, his former teammate will become his manager. (Unfortunately, it’s not Thomas Müller)
Sané recently spoke about Kompany according to @kerry_hau via @iMiaSanMia:
Leroy Sané on Vincent Kompany: “When we were together at City, he actually told me he would become my coach one day. I just said: ‘That won’t happen!’ – Now it has happened – unfortunately [laughs]. Kompany apparently always knew he would coach Sané one day: “When we were together at City, he actually told me he would become my coach one day. I just said: ‘That won’t happen!’ – Now it has happened – unfortunately [laughs].”
Sané is quite happy to see his former teammate succeed and has only good things to say about his new coach:
“No, just kidding. I’m very happy that he’s now our coach and can work at such a top club. As a player, Vincent was an absolute leader – someone who leads the way, who wants to see dominant, fast and brave football. Even as a player, he always expected that from his teammates. If he can instill that in us at Bayern, our time with him will be very good.”
The question now is: will Leroy Sané continue to be a half-season wonder at Bayern Munich, even under his former teammate?
