Luke Thomas were among the players that returned to pre-season training today. He is at Transfermarkt seen as a player without a contract, running until 30th of June 2024, but could be that this very reliable website has it all wrong and that an extension is believed to last for another year.
He has been under a lot of critisism after two loan spells at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough not looking as it should regarding performances, but still been playing at Premier League level last season, and also being picked, so surely not that bad.
His track record as a Leicester player is one very good, being involved in most European campaigns as well as being a winnner of the FA Cup. He also made it into the England U.21 tournament last summer, winning the lot, and being influential and playing in the tournament.
Reports do say that his contract is running for one more year, and if so, he will of course be back in a flash and start work to convince Steve Cooper he can be part of a plan, seen as the successor of Ben Chilwell and adaptable both to play in left back in a back four, or a flank alternative in the five men midfield.
Anyway nice to see Luke Thomas back, and hopefully being able to win some credit back, getting a proper chance to shine in pre-season.
