According to a report from Tz journalists Philipp Kessler and Mano Bonke (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), there is some merit to the rumors that Bayern Munich’s Kim Min-jae is drawing interest on the transfer market, but the player is not considering a move:
Kim Min-jae has enquiries from Spain, Italy, England and Saudi Arabia. Atlético Madrid have expressed their interest, Manchester United had him on their list a few weeks ago, and Juventus are keen. The player is not considering any of that at the moment. He also immediately turned down Al-Nassr and Al-Qadisiyah. Kim’s clear plan is to stay and establish himself at FC Bayern.
While he likely wants to stay in Bavaria, a spot on the bench could dissuade him from wanting to stick around. Dayot Upamecano seems like he will, once again, get a spot in the starting lineup, while Bayern Munich is also pursuing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah pretty heavily as well.
Min-jae and Eric Dier could be on the outside looking-in at the starting XI.
Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy appear to have their new relationship all set for a signing. However, it will not just be Guirassy jumping to BVB, his VfB Stuttgart teammate, center-back Waldemar Anton, Brighton & Hove Albion defensive midfielder Pascal Groß, and Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki could all follow suit:
⚫️ DONE DEAL: Total agreement between Borussia Dortmund and Serhou #Guirassy has been reached now!

But #BVB, very optimistic to sign Cherki this window as all of the bosses are pushing for him now.
With Germany out of the EUROs, Bayern Munich’s activity is heating up in a big way.
Transfer signings, transfer rumors, and everything in between is hitting the news cycle, but what it going on with Bayern Munich is so much more than all of that.
This is truly a new era at the club and within two years, this team could be completely unrecognizable. Is that a good thing? Was it needed? Let’s talk about that and more on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show. Check out what we have on tap:
- We’ve heard the back and forth on negativity toward Bayern Munich, but let’s talk about why some fans are not feeling uber confident in how things are going.
- Is it time to start worrying about Harry Kane? He looks zapped for England and is settling into playing the same kind of facilitator role that earned him a little ire at Bayern Munich.
- Checking in on the latest transfer rumors surrounding Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Serge Gnabry.
A pursuit of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich might not be in the cards for Real Madrid this summer. The Champions League winner might not want to spend the necessary cash to bring the Germany international:
Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is one of the most sought-after players in the current transfer market as he has caught the attention of several top clubs, including three Premier League giants, PSG, and Barcelona.
Now, Real Madrid were also interested, but a recent report from SPORT suggests they might step back from the chase, mainly because they are unwilling to pay a transfer fee for Kimmich. It must be noted that Toni Kroos’ retirement put Real Madrid on high alert. They began looking for a quality yet affordable replacement in the market and Kimmich’s name was among those considered.
The German, who has been with Bayern Munich for nine seasons, has one year left on his contract and is contemplating a move. However, with several clubs already approaching him, Real Madrid initially thought about waiting until his contract expired in 2025 to sign him for free.
It is said that the competition for Kimmich’s signature is intense. Among the Premier League teams, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are followed by PSG and Barcelona. The strong interest from these clubs has led Real Madrid to withdraw from the bidding war. Moreover, Kimmich does not align with Real Madrid’s new transfer strategy, which focuses on signing young, talented players who can secure the future of their midfield.
Interestingly, withdrawing from the race for Kimmich doesn’t mean Real Madrid has stopped looking for midfield reinforcements.
Despite this, some argue that Real Madrid might not need a direct replacement for Kroos. Their current squad is well-stocked with midfield talent, including Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Arda Guler and this depth in midfield might allow them to cope without bringing in someone like Kimmich.
In summary, while Kimmich’s potential move is creating buzz across Europe, Real Madrid seems to be taking a step back. They are likely reassessing their priorities and focusing on nurturing the young talent already within their ranks. Meanwhile, the battle for Kimmich’s signature continues, with several top clubs eager to secure his services.
Kimmich’s future remains up in the air. With no formal agent, it is expected that Kimmich will settle into the boardroom at Säbener Straße soon enough to exchange ideas about the future.
Chris Führich’s release clause at VfB Stuttgart runs until July 19th, so the winger will have to sort out what his next move is rather quickly:

Aston Villa and Benfica could battle for Atlético Madrid attacker João Félix:
Aston Villa are prepared to rival Benfica for the signature of Atlético Madrid forward João Félix.
Félix has never quite made “the leap” in his career and was shipped away on loans to Chelsea FC and FC Barcelona over the past two years. If Atlético Madrid could secure a big chunk of the €127 million transfer fee that it paid Benfica for him, it would probably do that in a heartbeat.
Ex-Bayern Munich prospect Marcel Zylla is a free agent and looking for a new home:

Germany and Spain hooked for a heavyweight battle in the EURO 2024 quarterfinals.
It was the rare game that truly lived up to the anticipation, intensity, and energy that you would expect to see — and Spain outlasted Germany for a devastating 2-1 loss for the Germans. The game featured questioned lineup selections, incredible amounts of energy and intensity, and a tangible tension that was present throughout.
In short, it was not just a match, but an experience. Here is a look at what we have on tap to break it all down on the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at Julian Nagelsmann’s starting XI for Germany and why it was considered to be so controversial.
- Nagelsmann’s penchant for tinkering is still his biggest weakness.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
- Joshua Kimmich is a clutch player in every sense.
- What a crushing way to lose.
- Bottom line, Germany didn’t finish its chances.
- What did we learn from this Germany run?
- Where does Germany go from here?
It has been a tough stretch for VfB Stuttgart! One player who wants to stay (at least as of now) is Deniz Undav, but it will take some work to make it happen:
⚪️ Still no agreement between Stuttgart and Brighton about a permanent deal of Deniz #Undav!

Juventus is keeping a close eye on Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, but will not send Federico Chiesa over to England for a swap deal:
Juventus have also made an opening offer to Man Utd for Jadon Sancho, but are prepared to play hardball over the winger as they recognise the Red Devils are ultimately reluctant to keep him. Contrary to other reports, Federico Chiesa will not head the other way in a swap deal.
Germany is in the EURO 2024 quarterfinals. Bayern Munich seems like it might torch some key players on its roster, and we are sitting here wondering why it just can’t all come together on both fronts to make for a smooth and seamless summer!
That is never the way, but it is also why we are here doing this podcast, so let’s get cracking with a look at what is on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- Early thoughts on Germany vs. Spain at EURO 2024.
- Matthijs de Ligt looks like he is headed to Manchester United.
- Bayern Munich has agreed on personal terms with Xavi Simons, but that does not mean a deal is imminent.
- Arijon Ibrahimović re-upped with Bayern Munich and will be on the first team, but with what role?
- Bayern Munich could be asking Joshua Kimmich to take a 15% pay decrease. Would he do it? Does he even fit into Vincent Kompany’s plans?
- A shout to an upstart Bayern Munich fan club in Louisville, Kentucky (@MiaSanLou on X).
