Man United are seemingly closing in on the signing of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.
Manchester United are yet to make a signing this coming summer, though the Old Trafford club appear to be progressing on multiple fronts.
Among the big needs is a new striker. Erik ten Hag could only rely on Rasmus Hojlund to lead the line last season, though the young Dane needs help.
It seems as though Joshua Zirkzee is the man that the Red Devils have identified to replace the Anthony Martial-shaped hole within the squad.
Over the last 24 hours, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on that front. He states that United are now ‘ready to complete’ the signing in the ‘next days’. There are apparently ‘no issues’ to iron out between the parties.
A salary has already been agreed with the player, who is expected to sign a contract until June 2029; a five-year deal.
Now comes the formal steps of sorting out the fee with Bologna. The Reds will either meet his £34m release clause, or work out a different structure of payments.

Zirkzee scored 12 goals in Serie A last term, impressing for a Bologna side who certainly punched above their weight at times.
The Dutch striker earned a place in the Netherlands squad for the European Championship, which is a testament to his growth and development.
United would be acquiring a player who is still a little rough around the edges, though with plenty of potential for long-term success.
