Michael Olise netted a thundering strike as France’s Olympic team recorded a 7-0 win over the Dominican Republic.
Olise, who recently completed a £52m move to Bayern Munich from Crystal Palace, was included in Thierry Henry‘s squad for the upcoming tournament on home soil.
Joining him in the Olympic squad are former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, and Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is the the team’s only Premier League representative and who, like Olise, has never made a senior appearance for Les Bleus.
With the Games less than two weeks away, France played a warm up match against an U23 side from the Dominican Republic on Thursday.
France took a commanding lead in the clash, and Olise netted from close range to make it 4-0 early in the second half.

The English born forward wouldn’t have to wait long before doubling his tally, finding himself in space with the goalkeeper off his line following an errant clearance.
Olise struck the ball on the half volley from well outside the penalty box, sending his strike flying into the top corner and prompting a hilarious reaction from Henry in the dugout.
The goal led to fans on social media questioning why Olise was not selected for Didier Deschamps’ Euro 2024 side that were knocked out in the semi-finals by Spain.
One fan wrote: ‘This guy should’ve played euros he has no business playing u23 football’
Another added: ‘Hope he stays injury free! Serious player him.’
A third wrote: ‘Honestly if they started him RW over Dembele they might be in the final’

Fans on social media questioned why Olise hadn’t been included in the senior team for Euro 2024
Kylian Mbappe had hoped to captain the Olympic team this summer, but the former PSG star’s move to Real Madrid has prevented him from doing so.
Club sides are not obliged to release players for the tournament, and Real have remained determined that their blockbuster signing will join up with his new teammates after Euro 2024.
