Bayerns Munich phenom Aleksandar Pavlović was not always a midfielder, but you might not know it by the way he played this season in Bavaria.
As a youth player (not all that long ago!), Pavlović played as an attacker.
“I played as a striker on the small field. I always scored a lot of goals. After moving to the big field, I was in midfield and didn’t want to leave that position. That’s where I feel best,” Pavlović told Säbener51 (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The perspective of playing as a forward a youngster has likely helped Pavlović get a keen understanding of how to contribute to the attack on a frequent basis.
If his development continues, Pavlović could be an integral part of the Bayern Munich squad for 2024/25 once again. New coach Vincent Kompany could be inclined to lean on the youngster, whose poise and control made him look — and perform — far beyond what is expected from someone his age.
