If you were surprised that Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman did not come on against Spain in his home ground of Munich despite his country, France, being behind in the first semifinal of EURO 2024, you were not the only one. Coman himself was left puzzled by his playing time in EURO 2024 according to @lequipe and is considering retirement from the national side as per @iMiaSanMia:

Kingsley Coman is considering retiring from international football. Coman worked very hard to recover and get fit for the Euros, but only played 15 minutes during the tournament, which left him ‘scarred’ and thinking about whether or not to continue with the national team. The 28-year old has never considered the prospect of a long career in professional football
Coman’s time out due to injury is piling up and if the winger does end up staying in Munich, it might be a relief for Bayern (and Coman’s body) to hear that he might no longer have national team duties to tend to.
However, a follow-up report from Bild’s Michel Schröer and David Verhoff indicated that Coman has no plans to stop playing for France:
A spokesperson for Kingsley Coman’s camp has denied the report that the player is considering international retirement. Coman has no plans to stop playing for the French national team in the future. For him, it remains an honour to represent his country.
What’s true? What’s not? Who knows?
