Bayern Munich has been very open about wanting to sell numerous first team players this summer, though, at the time of writing, none have been sold yet. According to multiple reports, the players targeted for sales are those with big, fat contracts that perhaps do not fit the scale of their contribution. And, according to L’Equipe, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Bayern views Kingsley Coman as one of those players.
More specifically, L’Equipe cites “his injury record, his big salary and the fact he’s not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans for the coming season” as reasons Bayern wish to offload the veteran Bayern player. The expected price tag? €50-€60 million, as the French news outlet claims. At the time of writing, that would constitute the highest sum Bayern will have ever received for a player.
There have been plenty of critics who have pointed at Coman’s injury record, inconsistency and lack of goals scored over the years and would deem it the correct move to sell the winger. It would be a sad and abrupt end to a player who has been part of the first team for nine years, delivered crucial and unforgettable Champions League goals against former clubs Juventus and Paris Saint Germain and a string of consistent Bundesliga titles to add to the unbelievable amount of trophies that he has accrued in his career. Unfortunately, though, everything comes to an end eventually.
