Bayern Munich has a bevy of attackers and if transfer window rumors are to be believed, they aren’t done yet.
Having added winger Michael Olise (22), Bayern is reportedly in the market for another attacker — either Rennes wonderkid Désiré Doué (19) or Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons (21). But what does this mean for the current crop of youngsters in the forward ranks?
According to Sky Sports journalist Kerry Hau, both Bryan Zaragoza (22) and Mathys Tel (19) want to stay and compete for a spot in new head coach Vincent Kompany’s side:
Bryan Zaragoza and Mathys Tel want to stay at FC Bayern and assert themselves under Vincent Kompany. Despite loose inquiries, they are not interested in being loaned out — but in Zaragoza’s case, this could still change by the end of August.
On the one hand, it depends on how the Spaniard performs in the pre-season — and on the other hand, what happens to candidates for sale such as Kingsley Coman or Serge Gnabry. Zaragoza is motivated and has put in a few extra shifts during the holiday.
A quick look at Bayern’s attacking depth…
- Harry Kane (striker)
- Mathys Tel (striker, wing)
- Thomas Müller (attacking midfield)
- Jamal Musiala (attacking midfield, wing)
- Leroy Sané (wing)
- Michael Olise (wing)
- Kingsley Coman (wing)
- Bryan Zaragoza (wing)
That’s nine players for four spots, and another could be on his way. So one or two sales may be incoming…or a loan move for a player who wants to stay.
