Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane says “Golden Boot? Golden Schmoot!”
The Englishman is tied or the lead in goals at this EURO 2024 competition, but does not care if he wins the Golden Boot, he just wants to win the tournament.
“Golden Boot? Ultimately, when you come this far in a tournament, you’re not thinking about the golden boot. You’re thinking about winning the championship and that’s all that matters. So, of course, as a striker I’d love to score on Sunday but if someone else scores and we win, I’m not going to be disappointed,” Kane said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane also intimated that he is feeling the support from his club and teammates.
”I’ve received a lot of messages from Munich from teammates and also from people on the staff at Bayern wishing me luck. It’s no secret that I haven’t won a team trophy yet – and the more years go by, the more motivated I am. Hopefully it will finally happen now,” said Kane (as captured by Sport1’s Kerry Hau via @iMiaSanMia). “I’d swap everything I’ve done in my career to have a special night and a win tomorrow evening.”
England is considered to be the underdog to Spain, but the Three Lions have more than enough talent to pull what some would consider to be a shocker.
Is it coming home?
