According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich plans to meet with the club when his vacation ends, but from there things are very iffy.
Kimmich wants to play in the central midfield, but the position is already crowded by Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer, Aleksandar Pavlović, and João Palhinha:
Joshua Kimmich will hold a detailed conversation with Vincent Kompany after his vacation. The player would like to return to midfield, although there’s a lot of competition in the position after the signing of Palhinha. Kimmich is hoping Kompany will recognize his value in midfield as the build-up play has almost always been through him in recent years. Within the club, however, they expect Kimmich to continue at right-back should he stay.
Even with some doubt, Kimmich does still feel comfortable in Bavaria and might even be reluctant to leave — that does mean, however, that he is afraid to make a move. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, and Chelsea FC are all reportedly interested in the 29-year-old:
Kimmich actually feels comfortable in Munich and has just built a new family house in Grünwald. But the signs are currently towards a departure. Bayern want to avoid a free transfer next summer at all costs. If he leaves Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea would all be conceivable destinations for the player. It is now up to Kompany to convince Kimmich to stay, by showing appreciation and preferably in his favourite position in midfield with a holding midfielder (Palhinha) next to him.
