Bayern Munich star Harry Kane was a complete non-factor for England during the Three Lions’ 2-1 loss to Spain in the EURO 2024 finale and it was tough to watch at times.
There was some concern regarding how Kane performed in earlier matches, but how Kane looked vs. Spain might spark more worry among fans. Kane often lumbered through his 61 minutes on the pitch. While there are some rumors of back pain floating around, Kane looked like he had trouble moving and often meandered in the central midfield rather than doing work in the box where England needed him most.
For the match, Kane only had 13 touches and completed just five of his 10 passes. In those 13 touches, Kane lost possession six (!) times. Needless to say, this will not be a match to remember for the Englishman. Kane did finish as one of six joint winners for the Golden Boot.
There should be less concern with his numbers and more focus on how Kane struggled to move.
Now, though, the focus will turn toward Bayern Munich and hoping that whatever seems to be ailing Kane can be healed or rested by the end of the month.
