For Bayern Munich star Harry Kane, England’s 2-1 loss to Spain is going to sting for quite a while.
“It’s hard to put into words how we’re all feeling right now. Tough game. We did well to get back into the game and struggled to build on that. To concede late on is really tough to take. It’s an opportunity missed. These finals aren’t easy to get to. You have to take it when it comes and we haven’t done it again. It’s extremely painful and it’ll hurt for a long time,” Kane said (as captured by ITV via @iMiaSanMia).
Spain, who was the best team in the tourney from start to finish, kept England at bay early, but even when the match was knotted at 1-1, it felt like the Spaniards were just going to pull it out.
Kane put in 61 minutes, but did not look like himself physically. If he was 100% healthy, the Bayern Munich striker surely would have been able to make a bigger impact.
