Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry’s future in Bavaria is extremely cloudy, but Arsenal FC — his old club — might be willing to send him a lifeline:
Arsenal reportedly still want to re-sign Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry, as per the German football expert Christian Falk.
After coming through the Hale End academy, the 28-year-old never managed to find his feet in the Premier League. He went out on loan to West Bromwich Albion before permanently moving to Werder Bremen.
After showcasing his qualities in the Bundesliga, the forward earned a move to Bayern Munich and has now established himself as a key player for the Bavarian club over the last few years. However, he struggled with injury problems last term so he was out of action for a long time and as a result, he failed to secure his place in the German national team for the European Championship.
Now, speaking on the FC Bayern Insider Podcast, Falk has reported that although Arsenal sold him a few years ago, they still want to bring him back to the club.
However, the journalist states that Gnabry is reluctant to leave Bayern Munich and wants to prolong his stay at the Allianz Arena by signing an extension. So, Arsenal will have to work hard to persuade him to join should they formalise their interest over the coming weeks.
Falk said: “We’ve heard that they were a bit offended when it was reported that they wanted to sell him. Arsenal were always interested and he doesn’t only say ‘no, I’m staying.’ But he also says why not extend my contract?”
When asked by Welt about his reaction time still being a strength despite being 38-years-old, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer offered some insight on how he is able to do what he does
“I pay a lot of attention to my basic endurance so that I can concentrate over a long period of time – and be there at the decisive moments. In the round of 16 against Denmark, I didn’t get a shot on goal for a long time, then there was a storm break: I went into the dressing room and didn’t come out again until more than 20 minutes later,” said Neuer. “As a result, I didn’t have any real goalkeeping action for more than an hour, which is already extremely long — and then Rasmus Højlund suddenly stood in front of me. People always say that a striker only has maybe three touches of the ball in a half. You have to put it another way: as a goalkeeper, you sometimes have even less.”
Bayern Munich is a busy bee (no offense Borussia Dortmund) these days.

Manchester United is willing to sell Jadon Sancho to just about everyone:
Manchester United have offered Jadon Sancho to Atletico Madrid, Napoli and PSG in a bid to drum up interest. The winger is also aware that Juventus are considering a move.
Real Madrid could simplify things and reduce potential budget issues simply by exercising its buyback option on Girona’s Miguel Gutiérrez:
Real Madrid’s left-back situation this summer is filled with intrigue. The futures of Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia are uncertain, while long-time target Alphonso Davies has yet to be signed. Amidst this uncertainty, Miguel Gutierrez has emerged as a potential candidate for Real Madrid, with the Castilla graduate impressing during his time at Girona.
The 22-year-old left-back departed Real Madrid for Girona in the summer of 2022 for a modest fee of €4 million. However, as is customary practice with many young academy graduates departing the club, Madrid astutely negotiated a 50% sell-on clause in his Girona contract.
The Merengues also integrated a cost-effective buyback option of just €8 million, making his potential return to the club this summer a stark possibility. Touching upon the possibility of a return, Gutierrez acknowledged Real Madrid’s buyback option, expressing his lifelong support for the club. However, he emphasized focusing on the present, particularly the upcoming Olympic Games.
“It is true that Real Madrid have a buyback option that depends on them, but I have always been a Real Madrid fan, and it is a pleasure for me to have my name appear there,” he told EFE Deportes. “But this is something that must be left aside and focused on what matters now, which is the Olympic Games.”
All talk regarding Alphonso Davies has gone curiously silent of late. Things should spike now that Canada’s run at Copa America is over.

There were some hiccups in his initial medical, but it looks like Serhou Guirassy and Borussia Dortmund will be able to work through it:
⚫️ Serhou #Guirassy had his knee examined by a specialist in France!
We’ve been told the result was positive. The injury should not as severe as feared. The doctor believes that Guirassy will not need surgery and the striker can return to training in two weeks. He could be match-fit in around four weeks.
However, Guirassy had the examination done privately. The result does not directly impact the potential transfer. The official check by #BVB still needs to be carried out, which is scheduled for next week.
