After Uli Hoeneß quit as president of Bayern Munich, there were always going to be questions for the one who would inherit that position. But while those questions have racked up for current Bayern president Herbert Hainer, the former Adidas CEO has managed to hold on to his position as president for the past 5 years. Given his advanced age, Hainer will likely struggle to hold the post quite as long as the legendary Hoeneß did.
So how long will he be president of the Bavarian giants? Speaking to Welt, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Hainer did not commit to a long term future with Bayern: “I’m having a lot of fun, I’m still elected for about another year and a half. Now we’re working hard to put together a team that can win titles in the new season. Then we’ll see what happens next.”
Good question. What will happen next? If Hainer were to step down, who would inherit the role? That may be a question to be answered in 18 months time.
