The chaos within the Bayern Munich hierarchy has been an ill-kept secret lately, leading to various rumors about disagreements. Herbert Hainer was recently asked about whether it is helpful for the legendary duo of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness to stay involved in Bayern management. This is what he had to say to Abendzeitung per @iMiaSanMia.
“Definitely helpful: We are glad that we have both of them. They have enormous expertise and experience. Karl-Heinz helped us a lot with the signing of Harry Kane, Uli helps us as a member of the supervisory board with his huge network. We also deliberately integrated Karl-Heinz into our supervisory board twelve months ago in order to make use of his knowledge. In public, for example, it was portrayed as if Uli or Karl-Heinz had recently prevented coaches from being appointed. That was never the case. They give their advice when it is needed. It’s always for the good of FC Bayern.”
Clearly, both Hoeneß and Rummenigge’s words still carry a lot of weight in the soccer world. However, are things really as rosy behind the scenes as Hainer’s interview makes it seem?
