RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo has drawn the interest of clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool FC, and FC Barcelona after a strong 2023/24 season and a terrific EURO 2024 showing.
However, offers have not exactly been flowing in for the Spaniard. But why? This is what the word is:
As reported by Sky Germany, it is understood that Olmo’s injury record is currently putting off the Spaniard’s suitors.
While the €60 million release clause embedded in Olmo’s contract has now expired, it is believed that Leipzig would be looking to receive a similar fee for his signature should they sell him during this transfer window.
This means that a buyer would have to offer a fee, as well as a signing-on fee and an annual salary, leading to an overall package well in excess of €100 million. While the 26-year-old is undoubtedly a world-class talent, combining the package with his injury record makes a transfer away from Leipzig questionable this summer.
It seems incredibly unlikely that Bayern Munich would sell Leroy Sané (in fact, it feels far more likely that he signs a contract extension in Bavaria), but the rumor swirling around is that the attacker is available for the bargain-basement price of just under €48 million:
According to reports from Germany, Bayern Munich is willing to negotiate a transfer if Arsenal presents a bid exceeding £40 million (€47.6m). Although not actively seeking to sell Sane, the German giants are reportedly open to raising funds through player sales, having already spent €145m on new arrivals this summer.
Sané leaving under Vincent Kompany? Nah, it is not happening.
The last week has been rather light on Bayern Munich related news, especially on the transfer front, which gives us a little breather to talk about the team — specifically the coach. With Vincent Kompany holding his first public training session this last Saturday, the German media is rife with stories about his incredible attention to detail and general Guardiola-esque vibes. Is it too good to be true?
In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:
- Our first impressions of Vincent Kompany in training.
- Comparisons to Pep Guardiola — is it just hype?
- Kompany vs Mikel Arteta, and what another former “Pep disciple” did to get Arsenal back on track.
- What does Kompany need to achieve to be considered a success in his first season?
- Will Kompany get as many second-chances from the board as Thomas Tuchel did?
Paris Saint-Germain could be planning making a couple of big moves this summer:
Paris Saint-Germain are planning to advance for both João Neves and Victor Osimhen from next week.
Benfica understand João’s desire to join PSG, talks are advancing between the clubs to get it done.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg looks like he is heading to Olympique Marseille:
⚪️ Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to Olympique Marseille, here we go! Documents set to be signed for Danish midfielder who’s joining from Spurs.
Tottenham will receive fee around €13.5/14m as PEH was not intentioned to sign new deal.

Bayern Munich’s preseason is underway and the transfer window promises to offer up much change.
So what do we have to talk about on this show…let’s take a look at what’s on tap because there is a lot:
- Max Eberl might have shown his cards on the futures of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
- If Bayern Munich adds Désiré Doué and Xavi Simons, Bayern Munich is going to be way too overcrowded in the attack…right?
- Dani Olmo is likely only a contingency plan at this point.
- Manchester United is playing hardball over Matthijs de Ligt.
- What should fans be excited about at this stage…let us tell you!
- Talking The Boys season finale and House of the Dragon — plus scoping the next season Cobra Kai.
There were some whispers that former Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani was looking for a move away from Paris Saint-Germain.
It seems that those rumors could be put to bed, though:
Rumors are circling that former Bayern Munich Sadio Mané could move back to RedBull Salzburg:
If that were to happen, it would be a huge surprise – so for now it remains a wild rumor and speculation. Nevertheless, as the Salzburger Nachrichten reports, Sadio Mané dreams of returning to Austria to RB Salzburg.
According to reports, the former world-class striker only wants to play for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League in the 2024/’25 season and then rejoin his former club. The background to this is that Mané’s son lives in Salzburg. In view of the family reunification, the 32-year-old would not mind significant financial cuts (reported net salary of 40 million euros per year / contract runs until 2026), it was said.
“I love this city and the people. Salzburg is simply my home,” Mané told the Salzburger Nachrichten in June 2018.
It remains highly questionable whether RB would even consider bringing Mané back, especially since the club’s transfer policy is known to focus on young players with a lot of development potential . There have not yet been any talks between those in charge and Mané anyway.
Moreover, the Senegalese has long since passed his sporting peak – even more than that.
What a bust he was with Bayern Munich…
Bayern Munich’s preseason preparations are underway and soon, the full roster will be back in Bavaria ready to hit the ground running in the club’s quest to get back into the trophy-winning game.
To get back to there, though, Bayern Munich will need to finalize what figures to be an active summer of roster moves. Let’s talk about all of that and more on this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- After EUROs, it has come out that Harry Kane is hurt…what does this mean for Bayern Munich?
- Is Bayern Munich getting closer on Xavi Simons?
- Does Manchester United’s acquisition of Leny Yoro help or hurt Bayern Munich quest to sell Matthijs de Ligt? (It’s still a mistake by the way!)
- Response to a call or Q&A — and why it was the perfect segue to a discussion regarding Bayern Munich’s newfound plan to cut salaries for top players.
- Another week of rumors pointing toward an exit for Joshua Kimmich, but the potential moves for Alphonso Davies, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman might be harder to manage.
- A quick lamentation on the injury to Lena Oberdorf.
