According to a report from journalist Sacha Tavolieri (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany and board member for sport Max Eberl are interested in Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko, who is expected to leave PSV Eindhoven this summer.
Kompany, of course, is Belgian and could have an affinity for the 21-year-old:
Johan Bakayoko is still very appreciated by Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl, although Bayern need to sell wingers before making a move. RB Leipzig and Liverpool are also interested in the Belgian winger, who is likely to leave PSV next month.
Right now, Bayern Munich’s attacking group is overcrowded, so if a move is to happen, the Bavarians would likely need to unload one of the established big three wingers — Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, or Serge Gnabry.
What is Kompany cooking? Are the Pep comparisons really warranted? We discuss all that and more — including parallels to another “Guardiola disciple” in Mikel Arteta — on the newest edition of our podcast! Listen to it below or on Spotify.
