All of Bayern Munich were left infuriated as Bayer Leverkusen did the impossible and won the Bundesliga last season, breaking Bayern’s streak of 11 consecutive Bundesliga title wins with a dominant season of their own in the 2023/24 campaign. Bayern were always going to be angry, always going to be motivated to get revenge and win back the Bundesliga trophy, but it seems that one certain avenue of revenge has been dismissed.
@iMiaSanMia captured an amused response from Josip Stanišić after he was asked if he would act as Bayern’s spy on Leverkusen next season, which reads like this: “I can explain many things to him [head coach Vincent Kompany] about Leverkusen, but I think that will only happen before the game.”
How exactly would this espionage work? Did Stanisic wire the entire Leverkusen stadium to listen to the enemies’ scheming? Is he going to dress in all black and break into the now familiar Leverkusen halls? Ask his Leverkusen friends on Snapchat about their tactics? Short of such drastic tactics, such espionage may be best left to Bond and Co.
